Food brings us together, its a labor of love.

Chef & Owner Rhiannon Chandler Dillon, aka “Sweet Rhi,” has over 20 years experience in the food service industry. After studying culinary arts at AB Tech in Asheville, North Carolina, she began an extremely successful career as a pastry chef while nurturing her deep passion for food.

Rhiannon developed her talents while working at several restaurants around the US, where she had the opportunity to work under world-renowned chefs and study several different facets of the culinary world. Although her focus has primarily been in pastry arts and baking, she has also worked as a high-end caterer, a private chef, and even as a culinary teacher at a local art school.

From her Southern upbringing in the mountains of North Carolina, Rhiannon has lived and worked in Georgia, Arizona, Oregon, Northern California and Colorado. While working as a Pastry Chef for a boutique hotel in Telluride, CO, she began to receive personal requests for her cakes and services. These requests led her to branch out on her own, and in 2011 Sweet Rhi was born!

After leaving Colorado in 2014 to move back to her Southern roots, Rhiannon was thrilled to bring her business and passion to Charleston, South Carolina. Now going into her eighth year of business in Charleston she has become recognized for her talents and has open a Cake studio. At this time her Cake studio is by appointment only, but welcomes new and returning customers to pop in and say hello to add a little sweetness to your day!

THE PROCESS

Ingredients

It all starts with the freshest ingredients!

Baked fresh from scratch, and NEVER frozen, we use the finest ingredients available. We strive to source ingredients that are local, natural and organic as possible. My studio kitchen is fill with unbleached flour, local eggs, homemade jams, local fruit and homemade vanilla.

Expect to find a taste of the South in every bite!

CAKE TASTINGS

I would love to set up a cake tasting with you and chat about your special day! Cake tastings are by appointment only. At the tasting you can expect to talk about your wedding cake or dessert display ideas, colors, the feel or vibe of your wedding, and the location. This all will help me get to know you and your style, so we can design your dream cake together! Since I can’t bake every cake for you to try, you will sample a variety of our most popular cakes, fillings and icings-Unless there is something specific you would like to try. Cake tastings are $50. Tasting are made for two, but could be shared with a third person. You can always add an additional tastings for other family or friends that would like to join in the fun! If you are unavailable for a cake tasting, we can still more forward with the process without a formal meeting. I’m happy to set up a time to talk over the phone or through email about your special day.

BOOKING YOUR EVENT

We recommend booking at least 6-8 months in advance. Dates are on a first come first serve basis, since we can only take so many per week. When you are ready to “Save the Date”, we require a non-refundable deposit of $250 along with a signed cake contract. This deposit goes towards your balance that is due two weeks before your event. All changes must be finalized one month prior to your event.

PRICING

Every cake is custom made for your special day! Cakes are designed to reflect the personal style of the Bride and Groom, their décor and the “feel” for the wedding. So, no two cakes are alike! We do not have a set price list, and pricing varies based on the design of the cake and the flavors chosen. A good place to start is to determine if you want a Buttercream Cream or Fondant cake. Fondant cakes do require more work, so they tend to cost more. If you have a photo of a style of cake you like, feel free to email it to me. This will help me determine the look you are going for, and I can send you a quote. Although we do not copy others work, I can create a similar design, making it your own.

A small fee is required for day of set and delivery depending on the location of your event.

Cake stands and cake tables are available for rental.

Mini Dessert menu pricing is available upon request.
